A Baby Shower is a wonderful way to welcome a new child into the world. It is a gathering before the baby arrives, and the tradition is growing significantly and has become enormously popular in the past 15 years. A baby shower is a traditional ceremony which a host throws for a mother-to-be during the pregnancy, where friends come to celebrate the mother and her unborn child giving away gifts. It is normal to throw a baby shower one to two months pre baby arrival.

Generally speaking, a baby shower has traditionally been hosted by non-relatives of the mother-to-be. However, as time has passed and baby showers become more popular, it has also become more and more common for mothers and sisters to host such events. It is also becoming more popular for more than one person to be hosts of the shower, a way to arrange the event that often provides a lot of good fun! With more people brainstorming on things to do, this event could become even more special!

The guest list of the shower should be accepted by the expecting mother, to eliminate the chances of anyone being forgotten. It is not a must, but is however becoming more common to formally invite the guests through printed or electronic invitation cards.
